LAPTOP gggggg

Post  Matt Varnish on Wed Sep 09, 2015 7:58 am

the Gs are for the ten character minimum Smile

My Aunt and uncle are looking at getting a laptop. They DO NOT have a tablet, and while trey travel for half the year, the go to one place (AZ or FL for golfing) so what they want is essentially a portable desktop.. so 17 inch screen, and weight isnt an issue.. since it will be in a car or plane for a while then sit on a hotel table.

Any recommendations from the IT pro's amongst us?

Weight may not be a huge issue but I did find that having an ultrabook (Mac specs in a pc) is a lot nicer than a desktop replacement one.

I would say it's more worth spending the extra money for a good laptop versus pcs because of heat related reliability. Had no issues with both $1600 work laptops but the two $800 laptops we bought for home have been crap.

I guess for a good laptop with a big screen (and no budget) you a looking at macbook pro territory. Depends on if they are power users or don't give a damn about specs.
