The Opposite of All In

So, I was thinking the other day, and then Ca$h brought this up about finding an all in game again, where we go whole hog, like WFB and 40k all those years ago, to the resurgence of 40k when I moved back from the north, to the 3 years of Flames of War we played constantly. Since I have been back from Calgary for the past two weeks and done SFA, I am wondering if maybe I am done with MMOs and some other forms of gaming? What brings this on is that Archeage is the perfect MMO for me right now, its got some PVP but no crushing losses, its got persistent non instane 'in the real world' housing, ship combat, heavy crafting, all these things. And yet I feel bad when I log in. That I am just parking my fat ass down yet again after doing that all day at work lol. THen I look at my unpainted and unbuilt horde of models. If I quit buying another new thing right now, and paint one new model start to finish per day EVERY DAY, I won't finish until 2020 at the earliest. Not sure what I am saying here, but I wouldnt mind ppl's opinions PLus this passed the time for this stupid work loading in the system to complete

So you don't like wasting time on an mmo when you could be doing hobby stuff. Fair statement, but there is room for both. I was in AA last night for maybe 45 mins, then moved on to other stuff. I think you can do both.

I plan to work on more hobby stuff too, I was talking with you about where I should be investing that time - ie, what game.

For me both things fill separate desires. I'd actually backburner painting and hobbying over not playing video games. Video games are my default relax and not have to think after work activity. I do both when I can but readily admit I do painting in bursts.

I guess I am at that point where time is my most precious resource.. I have bought all teh stuff I could ever want (and will be buying more.. when Fulda Gap hits) and I have probably 25 games I could play on either console or PC... I just can;t do it all. So maybe I need to cull it down some..

As you know ... am pretty much done with MMORPGs as well. My moment of epiphany was when I realized that while I've played a half dozen+ of them, the time spent in all of them sums up to the first one (DAoc).

I don't know, too much filler to pad out time. Meaningless grinds? I know, know, tanks/boats are grindtastic as well but short of clan wars there's not a huge different between tiers. I also like strategy games (like EUIV) that where you have all of the content straight away and are more thinking that rote repetition.
