Congratulations! You have been granted access to the World of Warships Beta Weekend and become a Closed Beta tester. You can now take command of a huge fleet, testing legendary vessels while honing your tactical skills in intense naval combat.

On December 13 and 14, you will have plenty of time to play World of Warships and upgrade any ships. After that, access will be temporarily closed. However, you will be automatically accepted to the next Beta Weekend and the World of Warships Closed Beta.

Beta Weekend is an intermediate stage between Alpha and Beta Tests. It is an important phase on the journey towards the official release. Beta testers like you will help us prepare the project for the next stage of development.

Dont worry, itll probably be all ships that never existed.. I think tier X US carrier will be the USS Nimitz from "The Final Countdown" Wink

I had a look at a few of the trailers and it seems pretty cool to me, never tried world of tanks or any of the games like that, but maybe this would be more my style. Wonder if you can get sea shanties for your guys to sing like in assassins creed hah.

The problem with WW2 Naval war gaming is that it's kind of boring. Like the Bismark and the the Prince of Wales roll up 18km away and sail in a perfectly straight line rolling dice at each other until someone is the winner. So hopefully this game is not like that!

Well world of tanks and world of warplanes SURE AREN'T realistic, but are very fun, free games. So if that means they will make the ship battles not just over the horizon affairs, then it should be fine for you Smile

They are arcade games loosely based in history. A game purely based on tanks built in ww2 would be much smaller and people would get bored and move on quicker. Also if you remmeber what chieftain said at the war museum, the current design team is very dedicated to historic accuracy, be that of production tanks or prototypes.

As they redo the tanks in the HD models they are nerfing (and yes buffing) various aspects of the tanks. The previous modeling efforts concentrated on nationalistic flavour (ie: Yankee tanks with stronk gun mantlets) over historical accuracy... the new motto (asp as they can afford more historical research) is to try and improve on that. Of course... outside of armour thicknesses, etc there are so many "soft" values they can tweak for balancing it's a bit of a moot point. Oh and yes, the healthy dose of prototype tanks.

I hope the action is reasonably fast paced (and given WGs current offering it probably will be). In all of those old-school naval sims (ie: Harpoon, Silent Service, etc) I was guilty of mashing the accelerate time compression button so hopefully the action is similar here.

Hahaha Silent Service, I loved that game. Yeah I want arcadey too. If I want super detailed sim Ill go play Aces High or something.. "Oh you just came back from a 3-hour bombing run? Hope you remember to put your flaps down before landing"<Crash> zero points if your hulk doesn't come to rest on pavement lol.

Oh come on, we're all friends here.

I want a mix of Destroyer and Harpoon. Frankly I think it will be too impossible to capture all the good things about using ships in a game that can balance time and playability. The fact they have Soviet ships tells you how seriously they took development.
