Ruins and Line of Sight in FoW
this came up at the tourney and i dint wnat to argue it so i just shot at something else but:
can you see a tank and shoot at i on the other side of a ruin or it is area terrain like a forest?
In ruins i thought it was basically "true line of sight" except that if infantry were in it the automatically got concealed and bulletproof cover?

I've always played it based on the building. If there is an opening or hole in the wall and looking from the barrel through that obstruction I can see enough to 'shoot at', then I'm taking the shot with +1 for concealment as normal. Some ruins have enough walls and stuff dropped you can get away with it, like Brett's Russian train factory. You can't have a building that's in a huge pile of rubble and call it 'area' terrain. See it, shoot it, kill it.

Yeah but do the rules speak to it or is it open to interpretation
My thinking is if you have a shot through a ruin you should be able to take it

You want page 29 of the RB,
Ruins are Rubble, Rubble is area terrain, like trees.
6 inch view restriction.

Looked at that too, I usually chat with the person I am playing against. Usually never play it as true 'rubble' just for that reason. It's like the movement in city boards as well, there's a restriction on city roads as well apparently.....but no one plays it like that.

I agree, I liKe to play that you can see through the obvious ones, like an open factory or mostly destoryed house, just concealment.

Yeah, same here. Still makes it balanced so infantry isn't getting free assaults in every time a tank rolls by a blown up house. Yet infantry benefits by the bullet proof cover.
