Chained Camels
So, Camelot Unchained. I will be playing this. My coworker will also be playing this. We aren't diving in right now (since its over 100$) but the closed beta is soonTM (like Feb or March) and I just want to gauge interest and what Faction we will be. Hibby, Allby or Middy?

Will have to look more closer to release. At least there's no evil (black leather and red horns) / emo nations for T to bandwagon.
I'm tempted to say Albion not sure I liked the races, etc. Def not the knights in shining armour this time around.

Re: Chained Camels
I guess if we want to meta daoc the Vikings could be compelling as well; the has the smallest faction which made pvp frustrating but also has the best pvp players that could roll zergs.
I guess it kind of comes down to if this is a skilled based game or a numbers based game.
So I guess this means that hibs are out.

It's just an aggregate of what's on the official site aggregated on one post though.

I am registered for the beta.
Alb or Mid.
Won't be playing Hib or their new equivalent
Looking at Minstrel/Skald or Abbot/Helbound

Oh, none yet. I wont be actually giving them money until something is release. At current rate, likely Q4 2016.

Of course between DaoC and CU I totally missed Skyrim, ESO:Online, and Vikings the TV show,etc.. that probably make everyone go Midgard. Though seems like Midgard seems to have the least 'unusual' races which makes it the most interesting for me.
Albion: not just for wanna be history majors and goodie two shoes anymore.

Re: Chained Camels
i loved the skald class in DAoC immensely. Oh, and the Cave spec Shaman was my other main toon. This all pre dates the things you list....
My Albion Smite cleric was fun though my Theurgist was more interesting...

What I mean is while Midgard in DaoC was generally the least played realm it is looking like in the betas that the Vikings are the most played, likely due to the influenced that I specified earlier.
I did a cleric (main), sorcerer, and pladin to 50, also did a healer on MordredCA$H wrote:i loved the skald class in DAoC immensely. Oh, and the Cave spec Shaman was my other main toon.... My Albion Smite cleric was fun though my Theurgist was more interesting...

Re: Chained Camels
midguard was the most played on our server. FYI you can buy the digital copy of the game for 35 and get into beta2.
I wont be playing albion, i figured den would way to play dwarves anyways.

Re: Chained Camels
Even though the game has been in development for while it's still too early to get a good feel on the art direction. Looks like they are building a game engine from scratch which will handle zergs much better than most games but visually it's still pretty rough. They claim "graphics sell the game but gameplay keeps people playing", true but still need people to pony up to even check out the game in the first place.
Hopefully they end up with more of a DaoC look instead of the uo view that they currently have.

Re: Chained Camels
they just did a test that could handle 3k people (mostly bots) the people who were there said they were still getting 40+ fps, but that was a server test not a player test, much harder with that many real players then with bots.
60 gets you into all the beta 1, i'm tempted to grab the 35 dollar one, gets you the game and beta 2 access, who knows what the retail price will be.

Re: Chained Camels
I think I just might do that as well. Other than getting a feel for the different factions I don't plan on playing in the betas a whole lot.

Re: Chained Camels
cant really go wrong for 35 dollars it comes with the basic 1 month free, and the retail may be 60, i've seen that before, bonus for helping during development. even the 60 dollars comes with 2 months which is 30 dollars right there.
