Warmachine Mk. 3 Coming June 29th

That's the pics of the new starter boxes. Look to be all in one style boxes to get you playing right out of the gate.

Pre-measuring is now a thing! Finally! All Warjacks are basically "Aggressive" - they get one focus for free each turn, so they dont hog your casters focus...Sweet!
What I'm reading is shaping up to make me fall hard for this game again....

The new editions will be released worldwide in independent hobby game stores on June 29, 2016. Privateer Press will release the new Core Rules for each game for free online on June 12, 2016. Players will get their first chance to play the new edition at Lock & Load GameFest 2016 in Bellevue, WA, held June 10-12.

MKIII has been in development for 3-4 years. Codename: Egg Roll [Insert Chinese PTSD]
What has changed? - [3:50]
- We have rebalanced every model in the game. - Jason Soles
- Each warcaster has a unique, flavorful spell/ability. Some casters already had, some had to be added.
- Doubled the point scale.
- Addresses difference between Focus and Fury.
- New Mechanics:
- Power Up = Warjack are allocated a focus for starting in the caster's battlegroup.
- Spirit Bonds: As warbeasts die, Warlocks can gain fury "from the grave"
- Upped warjack/warbeast points. 28-30 points now.
- Games are still similar sized.
Why MK III vs MK 2.5?
- "Felt like the right time."
- "MKII got to a point where it was a time to readdress [interactions and power level]."
- "Look at the whole picture."
What were some lessons from MKII?
- "Punctuated by "setting huge base models free in the wild."
- "Played huge base models conservatively in places. Push them more in places"
- Global reset of the rules. Smooth things outs.
- Rework presentation. Organization to (hopefully) make information more accessible.
- Differences in Fury and Focus are addressed (in a meaningful way)
PREMEASURING
- "It already exists, felt like a loophole."
- No more 'Gotchas'
No more Fear/Terror
Change with Huge-Base Models [15:00]
- They feel like the monsters of the battlefield like they should.
Presentation of Story [17:00]
- Time-skip! Two-year jump.
- Flash-Point. First installment in a trilogy.
- Story line stuff. Resolutions and new things.
- No favorite character is safe. Plot armor is off! [~21:00]

- Pre-purchasing and distribution stations to solve line issues

- Unlike anything they have ever done. "Weird stuff"

Would be really could if people started playing this in our group,
I like the game, but I have found I don't like the tourmamwnts as much, I don't like the time clock etc..

I've been playing again for about 3ish months now. Huge group of active players in the area, no need to worry about DD support to make the game work, lol. Though it is nice when one of us plays, you won't have to worry about finding a game almost any day of the week in Ottawa.

my issue is that some of the players are a bit hardcore for my liking, i prefer a friendly game and the problem with the deathcock is that you cant really chat or anything it is all game game game

i really didn't like the steam punk aspect of war-machine, but there is hordes which is more animal bases,
some of the newer war-machine factions look pretty cool too,

I'm ok with steam-punk / pulp sci-fi / etc.. I have issues with the proportions of everything. Like Jacks are beyond heroic scale and are more comedic*. A lot of the humans just look wrong, like they are 1980s GW stuff. I think you are right that Hordes are much better; Trollbloods are mostly (for me decent) and the others are mix bag of stuff. And I will admit that the range is getting a lot better over time.

Almost all the models that have been released over the last 2 years are much better sculpts. Newer factions aren't steampunk look at all either (Retribution of Scyrah/Convergence of Cyriss specifically)

Deathclock is only high level tourney play. I haven't played one game like that or even seen a game played like that since I started back. Also, tonnes of starter leagues and tourneys running all the time.

Yeah i asked the guys about that, i was told facebook was easier..
I think they need to post event on GS as well, George who runs the group is pretty good but he seems to do everything on FB.. do you want his email?
