leopard I aren't good tanks the Canadians heavily modified them to make them useable.

some were converted with the mexas armour package called the Leopard C1 MEXAS, they were used in kosovo. Others were refit with the 1a5 turret making them Leopard C2 designation. The were in Afghanistan.

the leopard 1 was developed in 50s and depolyed in the 60s as where the t-72 was 60s and deployed 72. Thats a big difference in technology time wise. The m1 was developed in the 60 and deployed in the 70s.

I don't know why they put the leopard 1 in the game, they should have put the Patton in the american list and the T-62 or T-64 in the Russian list.

I'm surprised the leopard 1 doesn't have "no HE" since its a britsh gun.

I don't believe we used HE in our Leopards anyways.  We used HESH as a poor man's HE that could also defeat tanks.

The fact that the leo1 is in the game is a little strange, unless thy are thinking of doing more armies and are just starting to flush out the model range,

i think they needed to have the M1A1 to get people to want to play, the Patton probably wouldn't have drawn as many people to the game,

Is anyone playing this game though? is there any tournament scene yet? the game has been out for quite a while and i am not see much yet,

I have to say the only thing that would get me into this game is if there is a tournament scene, I dont see myself starting a TY army to play it at FNF 2-3 times a year. If the Pt shop boys start playing and there are some events that i can go to, then i woudl probably buy into it.

Its like KoW, there is just no scene where people play it, i even tried running a few events, but nothing took off so now my KoW is just gathering dust.

There seems to be events and small tournaments everywhere around the world but in our part of the world.  A couple of guys in Pet have started armies and a couple are waiting to see if they go German, British or someone else.  I'm trying to get Obsidian23 to build an Australian army. I'm hoping we can have a small local event within the year.  We are also thinking about a mega game on the night before Nationals.  Some of the Gagetown guys are interested.

The Patton would give them cheaper armour, and its newer then the leopard 1 any ways so you could field a unit of m1 and a unit of m60.

As for Canadian, when they put in the list they could just put in the leopard 1A3 C1 which is what the Canadians used. They didn't need the horrible German leopard 1, which is different then the 1A3 C1, to be there for the Canadians to have it in their list.

no there isn't a canadian list yet. Just russian, west german, and usa so far.

As for KoW my army is still in the store waiting for me to order it. I have so much stuff i need to paint and other stuff i want to get rid of.

Interesting... The box set is $80.00... A box of Leopard II's is $45.00... And a box of copters is $30.00... That means the box set is effectively $5.00 more than it's components... Well... You get the crappy card board template for $5.00... But really... If you want one... I've got 5 or 6...
