Deadzone 2nd Ed
Did anyone here get into Deadzone 2nd Edition? I had painted up the original boxed set but couldn't convince my friends to play regularly.
If anyone is curious about the first edition I'd be happy to run it some Tuesday night.

I've never tried the system, but I'm pretty caught up in Warmachine right now - I'd be willing to try it for fun though
Re: Deadzone 2nd Ed
It plays pretty quick and everything I have is 1st Edition with little interest in 2nd so there's little chance of it overshadowing Warmachine. For me it's a dead system.
Does next Tuesday work for you? I'm laser cutting at the library this evening and Thursdays are no good for me.

I got a bunch of first edition stuff as well, but left it in Alberta. Again, over Christmas, if I go back, I'll bring some with me. It was definitely a lot of fun, and I'd be willing to jump into second edition as well, but just don't want to re-buy everything I already have.

Re: Deadzone 2nd Ed
For now I have the Plague and Enforcers from the boxed set painted. I probably should just get the Veteran Commander Bundle, which has the new rules, counters and dice.
Re: Deadzone 2nd Ed
Yeah, I had the big box starter from first edition with Plauge and Enforcers as well. I also went all-in on Rebs though.

Re: Deadzone 2nd Ed
Rebs were the best. Very few other games had a faction which wasn't racially pure. You have Dwarves or Tau or whatever, but this was what a real sci-fi army would probably look like. I never picked any up myself. I have a rule about expanding a collection which is that I need to be playing it to do so.

I hope to actually play Warmachine Tuesday, since the store is carrying it and hosting that specifically. Deadzone may be better suited to a one off Friday or something....
Re: Deadzone 2nd Ed
I can understand wanting to play Warmachine on Warmachine night. Is the store limited to allowing only games they stock? I guess Friday is your main game nights and Tuesday is not specifically a "Dice Devils" event?
Re: Deadzone 2nd Ed
To which statement, only Warmachine at OOTB, or it's not an official DD thing? Or both?

I cant speak to OOTB except that Tuesdays was encouraged as Warmachine night.
Fridays are the regular DiceDevils night.
Re: Deadzone 2nd Ed
Dan allows anything Tuesday but it's Warmachine night there so people might not be happy not being able to play a game if other games are taking a table.
Call the store and ask about other nights though he's pretty amenable to hosting gaming.
This will be a lot easier in a few months when he opens the gaming room next door, but for now space is tight.

I don't want to intrude since I'm a newcomer. I'll revisit when he's got the extra space. I don't _really_ want to play Deadzone, it's just nice and portable with minis and terrain, and I'm not into Warmachine.
