V4, TY and Beyond.

Hey gents, time is right to drop this! in the latest Why We Fight, Battlefronts CEO drops some delicious news.

in no particular order, let me be the first to intorduce you guys to Flames V4/new TY stuff

FOAN and Vietnam are getting new books in about a year using the TY/EA variant rules with completely new army lists + the old ones.
FOAN will do 1973 Yom Kippur war as well as the 6 day war

Challenger, Warrior, Bradley, and French all coming eventually to TY

Rhodesian Bush War COMING USING TY RULES

Angola-South AFrican war

BF was surprised by how big TY got

BF acknowledges that gaming is changing and they have to change with it....hence the streamlining, and the being less "historical" and more playable

MW is going to be more plastic than LW is already (even more than TY)

Next year well see Berlin compilation with LW monsters as well as V4

V4 will have 2 versions

1 is the V4 core rules that uses the LW briefings
2 is MW using the V4 rules but introduces the cards etc
goal is to keep 100% of LW working but using the new EA rules

everyone gets a V4 rulebook if they have a V3 one

v4 is more of a hybrid of TY and FOW

T-64 coming w Red Thunder along with more BTRs (there are 3 BTR variants in the box)

AIW and VIetnam will have card packs instead of rebuying all the models

Iran Iraq and Pakistan-India may be a thing

the overall theme is that BF needs to adapt or die, and make the game more accessible to ppl without a local community to induct them

Thats correct for now, I cant speak on the future, though I suppose nothing stops people from never conforming if they are providing 2 rule sets.

atm MW is the most pure version of fow, it doesnt have hundreds of extra rules for each army list, its just the core rules from the book basically, there are very few extra rules, except for things like say british paratrooper list ect. i just hope they keep it that way and not make it more like LW is now.

I think it isnt so much as teo versions when mw w cards drop.. its just hopefully they retcon cards4lists whennthe new version hits. I was on the fence with the cards for ty but come to love them.. when you dont have every stat memorized.. they are fantastic
