Newbie on site
Hello all.
I stumbled upon your group when I was on youtube and found some of Matt's videos. Although I live in Kingston, i have been unable to locate a local group involved in miniature WW 2 wargaming. I have not do so since I was a teen, and trust me, that was a long time ago. I am in a position now to both have the time and the means to get back into it, but I am reluctant to start building an army without knowing what scale/theatre/time frame/rule are most popular. I know Bolt Action has garnered a lot of attention, but the 15 mm FoW seems to remain popular, despite some quirks in game play. All I currently possess is some 1/285th GHQ "micro-armour" Soviet and Italian armour and figure bases I acquired back in the 1990s. Yes, Italians. I do have a lot of interest in the minor powers, as well as the Spanish Civil War and even the off-beat "Very British Civil War", but I am willing to go with the flow, depending on what is most commonly played.
Any feedback would be welcome.
thanks
Marc

Re: Newbie on site
Hello Marc,
Actually, couple of us were at a Flames of War tournament in Kingston last weekend. The tournament was at Nexus Games (address below), but I'm not entirely sure when or where they get together. I''ll add a contact e-mail later. We mostly play in Ottawa area though there are often tournaments held in Petawawa. As for other games, I would really try to figure out what people are playing locally so that you can get a regular game going.
Cheers

Thanks for your reply. I will drop into Nexus and see if they have any contact info for the local group.
