Re: infantry in the open
Also if you did not move, shoot or assault you are gone to ground, in TY gone to ground now makes you concealed, which is opposite from fow, where you had to be concealed to gain gone to ground, page 44 big rule book.
Re: infantry in the open
In TY a team must be concealed and gone to ground to be harder to hit,
Being only gone to ground is essentially useless for all teams unless they are concealed aswell,
The one exception is in artillery bombardments where being gone to ground means +1 to hit the team,
Chris are we saying the same thing?

Re: infantry in the open
never mind i miss read it says and is, not just is, i didnt see the and. I read it gone to ground blah blah is concealed you are harder to hit. instead of gtg and is concealed.
Re: infantry in the open
Here is a question for you: At what point do infantry count as concealed in the open. gone to ground status is only given if the unit didn't move, shoot or assault. Does this mean when you deploy a unit of infantry which is gtg (all units start the game gone to ground) the infantry is concealed in the open (by definition of gtg he didn't move, shoot or assault).
Re: infantry in the open
My reading is its a moot question, as only being gone to ground is useless. You need to be concealed first. To be concealed in the open, infantry have to have not moved. So that tells you when you check the "status" of a unit. Simple.
Re: infantry in the open
V4 book says inf are conc and gtg in open if didnt move or shoot. Conc if shoot. Gun teams, even large ones.. the example shown is an 88, Is concealed in open ground if dug in. Vehicles never conc in open terrain.

Re: infantry in the open
so does that mean if your playing a game where you start dug in. Are you concealed during deployment or only when the first turn starts?
Also for infantry in the open if they are considered concealed during deployment or only after turn one starts.
You start the game gtg correct? and the only way to be gtg is not to move, shoot or assault correct?
so if you start the game gtg does that also imply your concealed if your infantry in the open, because you didn't move or shoot. I know i'm using one rule to make another rule work but its a curious question because it has a lot of implications if you can deploy concealed in the open with infantry.
I may just ask on team yankee forums just wanted to see what you guys thought.

Re: infantry in the open
So just checked the rulebook ar fandom re speaehead. You cant be within 8 inches of enemy teams if concealed.. nor ever be within 16 of enemy deplyment zone or objective. It then further mentions for all the powergaming assholes.. that you also cannot deploy using their new dz within 16 either. So no creeping within 16 inches of enemy dz in spearhead or deployment no matter what

Hey d, since you were at Fandom, do you know when people can go in and get their free V4 books?

Randy wasnt even sure when he would get them. At least he was aware of their existence.. which is a bonus.
The same thing as v3.. bring in your version 3 book.. get one of the new books for free (forget the specifics.. but they put a sticker in your v3 and give youna free one. Not the new army list obviously

Good point. Since you still need v3 for the next while if you want to play LW.
