You're covered until level 70 out of 90 if you buy the base game of WoW. TO put it in perspective, I have one character past there, and a bajillion alts all over the damned place below that. I hear that folks can actually lvl to 90 running basic by gearing up in dungeons and pvp/ archeology. If you are that cheap When I got Mists, it was bundled with Cataclysm(so lvl 80-90) together for 39 bucks, all you would be missing is Wrath of the Liche Purple King, I have no idea how much it is, I got it up north when it came up so full price. I plan on playing WoW at least until around March when GTA V comes out. If others want to join, cool, if not, no sweat.

Well then yeah thats a given.. though by the time the expansion comes out, they might bundle Wings of Liberty in with it too.

I know Duane doesn't mean WoW but Black Friday sale by Blizzard was announced. WoW and all expansions including Mists of Pandaria for $35.

When there is a JOBS tab on a BETA Sign Up page, that's usually a horrible sign. WW2 Online comes to mind.......just saying, I'll wait until there is a little more info, but not interested in trying to get into the BETA, because I would have no time at the moment to put any real time into it. Plus a company is not going to pick me cause I have gerbil driven interwebs out here in the sticks lol

It all depends on quality of game. If the game sucks and has a low player base, this means the companies almost have to provide free content. If the company and game are doing well and their product is thriving then they can charge for expansions and the like.
If the quality is there, I'd much rather pay for an expansion than get a lesser product on a barren game server.

Agreed.. there are a tonne of games that I lvoed but there just didnt seem to be anyone else on... Fallen Earth comes to mind.. Such a cool idea for a MMO.. I think if they hadnt have put it in Arizona/Nevada and given it a sci-fi Necromunda style vibe, it might have hooked more folks

LOL, so the Heart of the Swarm ex-pac is $40. For an extra $20 you get a few useless cosmetic items:
- StarCraft II Torrasque Ultralisk and three swarm-infested portraits (note: a skin for one ingame creature and 3 avatars for your profile)
- Exclusive Zerg baneling pet for World of Warcraft
- Diablo III Queen of Blades hero wings and Zerg banner sigils

Yeah it seems dumb to you and me, but you wouldnt BELIEVE the amount of ppl that will spring for that. I recall when they sold the very first cash-store WoW mount, they made 25 million bucks the first DAY.

I guess I can't complain too much -- pc games have gone up ~$10 in the last 15 years but still... wow.
