Re: Star Wars Legion
Hah I like how FFG surpassed GW as the number one seller of tabletop woth Armada and Xwing, and then 40k makes a huge resurgence.. so now they are trying to beat them at their own game. Unpainted or painted??

wow imperial assault gunboat. pretty cool! I assume the indentations in the Legion bases are for wounds or status wheels?

Re: Star Wars Legion
For SW:Legion to work it's going to need more than two factions.

And the success of XWING is mainly due to be well pre-painted. It wouldn't be the force it is without that...
And mechanics of Legion as SIMPLE so we'll see if it appeals to the same "core" group...
Re: Star Wars Legion
I think Xwing would have done just as well without having models pre-painted.
Two reasons.
1 Good rules.
2 Star Wars
There was a time you couldn't find Assault in stock either. It's affordable too and it's Star Wars. Beats down any universe in anything they sell.

I'm playing an mobile Star Wars MOBA. The way they are adding additional "factions" is separating Empire from Separatists and Rebels from Republic.

Good reasons, but not the "key" one to get non hobbists playing- pre-paints open a game wide open....

Ya, as soon as getting your game pieces ready involves more than cutting stuff off of a sprue (ie assembling w/ glue & painting) you jump from board game w/o a board into a geek twilight zone.
Maybe b/c of X-Wing more people will be willing to make the leap but tbd.

Re: Star Wars Legion
Watching that makes me really excited for the game, although the plastic measuring widgets seem a bit goofy. I do like the whole "measure accurately the leader, put the rest in cohesion" mechanic and wish more games did this. Would speed so many games up.
