Re: Flame throwers
You need to read about them more I think.
They're AWESOME......what don't you like about them?

Re: Flame throwers
They are only AT 2 hitting top armour so they are very unlikely to have any effect on a tank,
And now they only have breakthrough which forces a save reroll, so infantry get a 3+ save still.. and you have to roll to hit,
It just feels like they are unlikely to have much of an effect, they would be good in defensive fire, especially the auto pin part,

Re: Flame throwers
Yeah, for the defensive fire reason alone I think I will take two Flamethrower teams per FSSF platoon,
I will probably just put a flame mark on two stands to indicate they are flame throwers

Which is why they are better, all teams fire in DEF fire, regardless of whether they are spread out or jam packed in there. I don't have my rules handy, so unless there is another line about flamethrowers about firing over friendly teams.....there's no worries and yes you should add them, as Dennis said, they stick around.
Flamethrower troops vs tanks? Yeah, can't say a lot of troops decided to take tanks on with a BBQ strapped to them. Even though it was a 'common' thing in WW2, for FoW they're for infantry, plain and simple.

Yeah,
I have bazookas for tanks, S10 V side armour is pretty good, as you say Flamethrower s are pretty good for infantry,
I think I will make some up,
