plus Finns, Hungarians, Romanians.
Interesting read.. V4 rules are fine, and it seems they are coming around in terms of books/lists, finally

Re: Iron Cross and Enemy at the Gates
Looks like fall, but at least its something I guess. Still in wait and see mode, as North Africa holds zero appeal to me still.
Re: Iron Cross and Enemy at the Gates
I'm kinda like CA$H except that I'm all about Team Yankee right now. And by reading the update it looks like the Canadians for TY will be here sooner than later.
"As previously mentioned next month sees the release of Armoured Fist, then afterwards we take a short diversion back to 1985 with the release of Free Nations for our Team Yankee players."

But you can start your new Cold War Aussies well before then.

Of course Rob, just for you. I was emailing Dennis this morning. My Australians for NAM and TY arrive 19 Mar. I will be making them so I can use for both. Just replace Centurions with Leopards 1s. Throw in some LAvs for 1990.....

I can see that you are just as fired up as I am for the new book. What do you think of the new ASLAV replacement? Massive!

Re: Iron Cross and Enemy at the Gates
So they are splitting the 1 mid war eastern front book into at least 4.
Re: Iron Cross and Enemy at the Gates
However later in the year we head back to the Eastern Front with the release of Iron Cross and Enemy At The Gates, two new books focusing on the fighting in and around Stalingrad. These books will be filled with city fighting flavour, plenty of new models and some large plastic city ruins that will knock your socks off!
The Eastern Front gets a second bite at the cherry when we cross over to 1943 and the Battle of Kursk. Two more books covering the Germans Panzergrenadiers and late armour options verses the Soviets that can count on support from the west with Lend-Lease equipment and their own late designs (like SU-85 assault guns and T-70 tanks).
Last (but certainly not least) on our list is a Paratrooper book that Wayne is about to start work on shortly and also the Axis Allies, the Finns, Hungarians and Romanians. They are definitely on our plan but with so much ground to cover there is still a way to go for our diehard Axis Ally players.
Four/five more books but they seem to be grouped into their standard pairs of Axis and Allies. The real question is will they reissue these books into hardcover shortly after the the first go through?

Re: Iron Cross and Enemy at the Gates
I really want to be excited about this... But we'll see. I was really excited about V4 coming out... But I think I just had to wait too long to see my Soviets represented in Mid War.
If it comes out in time for Nationals, It may peak my interests... Otherwise... Idk.

Re: Iron Cross and Enemy at the Gates
I'll be waiting for the one compliation book again it seems, I refuse to buy more than ONE book to run JUST GERMANS in Eastern Front Mid War - looks like they want players to buy at least 2 (carving off panzergrens? really?!)
Who is making these decisions? - I WANT to love Battlefront like I used to, they are making it really hard....

Re: Iron Cross and Enemy at the Gates
Yeah I am feeling like you Tris.
I don't think I will be buying books anymore. Basically the shelf of 10 books I have now have all become useless with 4th edition or V4. Not about to buy another string of them just get V5 in 3 years time.
If I can get PDFs, good, then I will just keep them on my IPAD and bring that to games nights. The cards I will buy, just because!!!! But watch out, the first time they update the cards to change stats and I have to buy new cards, their gonna get it!!!!! I will sell it all and go play chess!!! Bwahahaha The only game that has stood the test of time without a bunch of monkeys messing with it!

Re: Iron Cross and Enemy at the Gates
I would like TY and FoW to get the same rules instead of them being just difdeent enough to be annoying,
On the point about the books,
I'm not sure if it will matter, hopefully you will just buy a card deck for your army and carry on..

Re: Iron Cross and Enemy at the Gates
That will be my plan this time round, buy cards and not books except the main rule book. Not worrying about the 200 million campaign books..... There will be enough online source information to help build army structures.

Re: Iron Cross and Enemy at the Gates
Yeah,
I bought the American cards so I can play my merchandise is MW too if I want to try something different from my Brits
20$ total from the unit cards and the Comand cards, not bad at all and all I need since I already have all the models,

You mean; TY and all 3 eras of FoW to have the same rules... ?

Re: Iron Cross and Enemy at the Gates
I heard that TY was getting a new edition soon that would actually bring it in line with FOW V4 rules, so that the two games essentially played the same (just incompatible points between eras).

Re: Iron Cross and Enemy at the Gates
When they reprint TY it will be in line with V4 Flames. Nam is already in line with V4.
