Phantom's article on his vietnam helos made the battlefront splashpage. This means everyone needs to get into moderns right?

Nice!
Now you just need to get everyone to agree on the definition of Moderns hah.
Thanks;

If only you can figure out now to mix Vietnam and AIW rulesets.... or you by me a South Vietnam (RoK) Walker Bulldog army!

Lets just mix the rulesets.. and figure out what needs to be tweaked. I plan on playing vs anyone that wants to.. I can run NVA tanks from Tour or Egyptians out of FAON, so I can be on both sides of the coin.

I guess the first step is to compare the Egyptian versus PAVN armour and see if the unit costs are right (normalizing for any differences in special rules, ratings, etc).

Yeah but the only way to do that is to playtest it.. and now there are new lists in FAON.... so who knows right?

Re: thats it, vietnam!!!
I think the points system is reasonably similar, if not exactly the same between the 2. A confident trained Patton is like 125 in tour of duty, and 100 in the new fate of a nation book (IIRC). But the US one also has Infrared Searchlights, tank telephone, Beehive, and Range Finder. Not sure what all of those do but I assume that is the difference in points. They have the exact same armor and weapon stats except the Jordanian one has 8" of more range.
That should put the points close enough to play a game. I think it would be maybe more of an issue with companies that don't match up very well, like if you had an Egyptian army where T34s are 20 points or whatever against a infantry army with maybe not a ton of anti-tank stuff in the vietnam lists? (not really sure about this). That probably won't give a great game but the same thing happens in period also, I mean the super extreme lists always cause problems.
Thanks;

I'm thinking you'd want to stick to the armoured lists out of the 'Nam book but tbd I guess...

Well yeah I do.. only because I have the armour and not much INF. But I would love to maybe proxy some inf and run like the NVA INF list vs say the Israeli Para list, just for fun!

There is an excellent video documentary on YouTube about the Aussies and the Battle of Long Tan. (1 hr 41 mins). Anyone who sees it will want to do Aussies.

Who wouldn't already? I'd talk like crocodile dundee the whole time. True story.. back in colorado.. there was a gun 'store' called dragonman's. It was really a post apocalyptic compound with more equipment than some cdn bases. Anyhoo.. he was this old tough aussie guy who had fought in the nam and liked fighting so much he went merc in angola. He had a kickass paintball field behind the shooting range on his compound. If I didn't already have 600 $ worth of commies I'd do diggers in a heartbeat.
