the ether key is a buff you get to open a chest that spawns near the location of the bounty/spawn, if you get an engram out of it you wont be able to decode it (that's why we couldn't decode the engrams we got today). I don't think you need the bounty to get the buff, just need to kill the named (as you didnt have it i don't think).

We should maybe camp the spawns and see if we can find a few chests, people figure when the expansion goes live tuesday you will be able to decode the engrams. They are probably new gear.
