Ah "codex" creep, a fact of so many games..

FoW handled it well with EW, MW, LW but LW has gotten pretty "codex" creepy

Warmachine has the same thing with some of the newer models that are coming out, but its not too bad.

40k is well 40k..

Exactly that. Also, they didn't know xwing would be the success it is so probably didn't plan this many releases from the start. Most board games don't see multiple waves of releases lol.
