Since it seems to be the thing, this is what I've got planned for Petawawa's Early War Tournament and Nationals:

Fast Tankovy Batalon (Rising Sun)

Fast Tankovy Batalon HQ                - 1 BT-5
Fast Tankovy Complany                  - 8 BT-5
Fast Tankovy Complany                  - 8 BT-5
Fast Tankovy Complany                  - 8 BT-5
Flame-Tank Company                     - 10 KhT-130
Self-Propelled Gun Battery              - 3 BT-7A
Anti-Aircraft Machine-Gun Platoon   - 5 Quad Maksim AA on Truck

1500pts

Entirely based on a scene out of a Korean movie "My Way". So, as many BT-5's as I could get with only armoured support.

The BT-5 was the brain child of the Christie suspension system and Soviet insanity. Essentially an American race-car designer wanted to introduce his design to American armoured vehicles, but was turned down. So like all good Americans, sold his idea and designs to the Soviets, who created the BT-5. For the time it had decent armour, but going into WW2, the armour was not fantastic. The BT-7 is a more armoured version of it.

In game terms, it has 0 all around armour. (BT-7 has 1 front and side).

Both sport a 45mm cannon, which in game terms is a AT 7; Firepower 4+ gun.

Check out time-stamp 0:55. Yes, that is an inter-war/WW2 tank catching air...

not that it will be hard with that many tanks..

Hens and Chicks...

Also, confident conscript...

Bob was saying at this last tournament that he was hoping that we Canadians could provide a better competitive showing at Nationals...

I walked up to him, showed him my list, and just apologised... He just shook his head...

If you run with your supporting elements as Guards, you'll bump up to 1495pts.

or i could take the same thing but with guards support that are also CV, not really sure what the advantage is of "guards" but that comes in at 1495

Headquarters
Compulsory Infantry Tank Company HQ (p.128) CinC Matilda II, 2iC Matilda II CT 475
Combat
Compulsory Matilda Tank Platoon (p.129) Command Matilda II, Matilda II CT 475 1
Support
Rifle Platoon (Guards) (p.135) Command Rifle/MG, Light Mortar, Anti-tank Rifle, 6x Rifle/MG CV 195 1
- Sticky Bombs Equip all Rifle/MG with Sticky Bombs 10
Rifle Platoon (Guards) (p.135) Command Rifle/MG, Light Mortar, Anti-tank Rifle, 6x Rifle/MG CV 195 1
- Sticky Bombs Equip all Rifle/MG with Sticky Bombs 10
Carrier Platoon (Guards) (p.136) Command Universal Carrier, 2x Universal Carrier CV 110 1
Air Support (p.152) Hurricane II 25

Anyone know what guards do? do they have a cool special rule or something?

They're Confident/Veterans that re-roll failed moral checks.

"Guards Platoons fight to the last and may re-roll any failed Platoon Morale Checks. Your Company Command team may re-roll Company Morale Checks."

so now debating between three lists.. the fort. company I already posted, then there is the typical Bersaglieri list, which is the balanced list (well, I would take recce if I was allowed to) that has Inf, some guns, air, tanks, smoke. Lastly there is the Carri Compagnia... which is plenty-o-shitty tanks.. Guess I'll have to playtest them and see what I like.. though the Carri Co. requires a purchase of said-shitty tanks.

<record scratch noise> Alright Ive settled on a list..

The Carri Compania. command shitty M14-40, then three platoons of shitty M14-40 tanks (slow, unreliable), 2 platoons of shitty L35 Tankettes with MGs (slow unreliable, halftrack movement even!) and then rounding it out, is a platoon of truck mounted coastal guns (slow unreliable, overloaded)

Smile

there are, but as my past experience has shown, range 16 MG fire is only effective at short ranges, given that they are slow unreliable halftracks, so get stymied by any and all terrain..... Smile Besides, with no Recce available in the list to take the Autoblindos, I will be hardpressed to dig out dug in inf with all those shots Smile

But w/e itll be be fun to paint.

That is okay. My BT-5's vs. your M14's will be a great game.

I wish I could voluntarily flip my Tankettes sideways like in World of Tanks.. that's because they have an armor of 0 front, 0 side and top 1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
