Canadian Nationals
A few posts have been put up by Dennis already. Sorry for the longer one on the main page, it's been corrected and is now displaying properly. As you can see, some of the site articles are getting better and we're looking to finish 2016 stronger in the viewership department. More readers and more exposure not only for Dicedevils.com but for the Ottawa gaming community. We met a lot of new players at the tournament and a lot of local players as well! Flames of War is still strong in the area, even if it has fallen out of favor with some of us.
You should be happy to hear that two of us made the top ten in the final standings with Andrew and myself tying for 7th place. Rob, Dennis, Kevin and Scotty all had strong showings over the course of the weekend with Kevin picking up Most Sporting player for the tournament!! So if you included the US Nationals and previous Canadian events, Dice Devils continue to do well against some of the top players in North America!

Re: Canadian Nationals
its not that its fallen out of favour, it's just people are playing team yankme and early war.
Re: Canadian Nationals
I'd have tried a lot harder (switching shifts and such) to make this event if it wasn't early war. As such I didn't want to owe a few people days owed for an event I'm mildly interested in at best and would have to buy and paint a tonne of models. If it was any other period id be pre-set to play!
Glad to hear community at large is still good. I'm still more keen on Warmachine/Hordes and 40k but a tourney every now and then for FoW might be fun. Have way too much invested in this damn game to drop it cold turkey lol.

Re: Canadian Nationals
not really for late war, mid maybe, i'd play germans in late war now, everyone has to many special rules and insane tanks, fins have shit takes in late war, which was balanced before they started to come out with all the new books since release of 3rd.
Re: Canadian Nationals
100% in for next year. Gonna buy me the bulge compilation book and use this as an excuse to paint my 2nd ID in full winter gear
Re: Canadian Nationals
I am interested to see how the 1420 LW tourneys go, not a lot of points for toys, I see what you mean about special rules though,

It would be great to see you playing again. The smaller points totals makes for a much more interesting game. You can't take everything, so something has to be left out. Makes the games quicker too.

Re: Canadian Nationals
Smaller points for LW is actually fun as it curbs a lot of the really silly lists in that they can't get the volume or variety they need to be effective. I'm undecided on Infantry or Mechanised. Either way it will be winter Americans!
Re: Canadian Nationals
1500 was and still is my favorite total I think. The 1750 was nice to try, but Rob is right on the money. It's a tighter game at lower levels, even the adjustments in the new books make it possible to field decent lists out of Italy, Market Garden and the new Bulge compilations. We'll see if 1515 is an actual change, as it won't be confirmed for a little while longer.
