Petawawa Tournament
Wondering who is going to Pet this Sunday for the annual LW
Flames of War? Looking to hit a decent amount, should be a good group from us going up and I know Kingston will be represented as well. Pretty sure it's 1515 LW, all other details on the Petawawa Miniature Soldiers page.

Going to be trying to make my way out. Pretty ridiculously busy, so we'll see if I can get all my marking done on Saturday.

Pretty much at the last moment, or if someone else commits and asks for a ride.

Glad you're able to go Andrew. SSF list? I'm torn between Elefants or US Para......either Italy or Market Garden.

I think I will bring FSSF,
The new special rules aren't as good as the old ones but it would be fun to play then again

Like the Russian tank list Kevin, if it's from Desperate Measures. I picked up three boxes of tanks at Fall-In, got some IS2 Platoon, two boxes of SU-85/100 with the new plastic kits and two tanks in each.

Well here's hoping Andrew still wants to make his way up. Haven't heard from Marty, can't recall if I saw his name on the list.

Re: Petawawa Tournament
Was a good event over all, there were a few folks up from Kingston and a few more down from Deep River, 10 people in all,
Good games, my last game was a "Fair Fight" against Matt, and it was so fair we tied..
Louis announced that Nationals will be LW and there will be 3 point values, so everyone picks an army and builds 3 list then each round they will roll to see what points value we will use,

Good to hear!
3 point values, eh? Sounds like a moderate versions of US Masters.

Yea,
I'm not sure if I am a fan or not, I like the idea if having a single list and playing it, instead of needing to get to know how 3 lists play.. will need to see how different the 3 point values are..

Re: Petawawa Tournament
Well its a way to get rid of the same exact boring net-lists. The cheater guy I played at Fall-In had the exact same list as Phil Messier did in another tournament. yawn. 1750 midwar had been done to DEATH. im glad itll be new points system and new rulebook in effect. Late War Monsters allowed?

Re: Petawawa Tournament
instead you need 3 cases and 3 internet lists, it doesn't fix anything in that regard just means you need to pack more minis and risk someone walking out with one of your cases, unless you make the 3 lists the same.
Re: Petawawa Tournament
Well.. I was thinking,
If we are stuck with a certain formation, essentially page of a book if the points are different enough it could be good,
Especially if there is say 500+ points between the biggest and smallest point value,
If you take armour you might be able to take a good size list at 1750, but at 1250 you would be hurting..
Problem is there are some lists that will do really well and others that will do really badly..
It won be 3 armies, it will be one army with maybe 4 or 5 extra platoons depending on which point level..
Except for those lists that can take tigers or king tigers depending on the company commanders tank..

Re: Petawawa Tournament
that really limits some of the lists though, like you couldn't take a d-day panther list you can fit it in 1500 or 1750 but not like 1200, you wouldn't be able to field the minimum units, i know there aren't a lot of lists like that but their are a few. It would still mean i would pack at least 2 cases though as each list if i was playing russian would be completely different except for the required units. It's a neat idea but it all depends on the rules i guess.
Re: Petawawa Tournament
Yea,
I think if you had to keep your army the same and could only add platoons.. that could work, like add air support or AA, or artillery.. etc
Like you say it s all about the rules
