Bolt Action
So, I know it's WW2, and 28mm, but someone among us wants to play Japanese.......thought this would interest him!

Re: Bolt Action
I am jonesing for robots. Either rocking it old school and picking up Battletech again, or going with Heavy Gear.
FoW fulfills my WW2 passion, and at a scale I prefer. Squad level/Skirmish is what I want out of a techy/fantasy game.....

Re: Bolt Action
What about DUST? The background is wwii/sci-fi/robots.
There are two rulesets; one more boardgame style and one more tabletop...

That may be an option...........I am game for something on the side, to mix things up a bit......DUST is a "cheaper" game to get into for sure........ but only 3 factions.......
Re: Bolt Action
I have made a Pre-New Years resolution, and that is to climb the mountain of unpainted stuff I have this year, after a nice break. So even though Bolt Action looks fun, I already have a game at that scale (unless i sell it all off I suppose) and even so I have WAY too many FoW armies. This past year I painted 3 armies: Free French, repainted Brits, and then the Sov's. Next year I aim to do my DAK for the next big MW tournament, then I have the BAR to do for EW, and then I have the various misc. crap for my armies.. like.. 9 crusaders, 6 Grants, 3 shermans 3 Churchills to redo for my Rats, 105s and Priests and Armoured Mortars for my French, etc. We're not even getting into all the Soviet infantry crap!
So as you can see, I have my plate full!

I think the only one I'd take a flyer on now would w drop zone commander. The rules for heavy gear scared me, though the models looked cool.
And there is always Epic 40k. Likely get great armies on eBay for dirt cheap. Or BFG even.
Re: Bolt Action
Ok, so Dennis is out- moving on.
Heavy Gear looks neat, and model count it low - don't know much about the rules except that Electronic Warfare is represented (neat idea).
Napoleonics would be cool, but I would prefer 15mm so as to represent larger forces....

I never got into anime so Heavy Gear, etc is a pass for me.

Ill bow out too. Heavy Gear just doesn't seem interesting enough to me and, like Dennis, I have a tonne of Flames of War to paint as well, including my Game Summit army and my EW Germans.
Oddly enough I'd like to work on 40k a bit in the near future too.
Re: Bolt Action
Im open to almost anything also....its not set.... I just want to mix things up.....

Re: Bolt Action
I would rather play a pen and paper RPG. Rifts, ad&d if it's any good after all the changes. I thought maybe heavy gear for a robot/sci-fi feel to it. I think FoW is my game. Only because I am a huge ww2 history buff and I look forward to every tournament. I have a feeling that I will be playing WOW after the Petawawa tournamnet. Keep talking though, there has to be other ideas floating around.

Im down for RPGs....would rather that than WoW for sure........I have the reproduction of the old AD&D "Red Box" we can use as a leap stone.......if there is interest.....
Re: Bolt Action
I think we should pick up the Hobbit... as we missed out on LOTR the first time around...
