This'll be up on WWPD at some point, but here are some interesting points:

From BF:

Flames V4, next book “First to Fight, US Tank, Mech and Rifles
Later MW British book w Rifles, Matildas, Valentines
Later MW DAK book with the 90th leichte Afrika Div (FK36Rs) with Diana’s as cards
Airborne book, with Para and FSJs

Missions: too many draws, will be addressed
MW Pacific coming, cards

TEAM YANKEE
Red Thunder and Stripes REPLACES the main rulebook lists?!?!?! Stripes includes USMC
“Early” Arab Israeli, 1960s/70s Europe
“mid” we are in Mid right now
“Late” T-80s, BMP3s, M2 Bradleys, AH64s
CDN/ANZACs after Stripes

NAM
First ‘TY” book to move into V4 specs, is 234 pages. Once the main TY reprint comes out, you can do East Germans vs Viet Cong !!

Shouldn't the US book be called "better late then never" instead of "first to fight" since they were 3 years late?

Bummed they are making TY into "era" based lists - just pick the "height" of the conflict(cold war) and run with that. Now it "which era" arguments for events like FoW, certain era most likely less favored, etc.... Like I'm OUT for "early TY" already - all my current kit is useless....

I swear, this company....

So you'd rather a system where 1960s-era stuff is fighting late 80s early 90s stuff then>? How else would you structure the game mechanics, for pzr Is vs King Tigers for instance?

Your missing my point - 1960's stuff wouldn't be against 80's/90's cuz that's makes it a different game! Its like why don't American Revolution play against US Civil war?

Cold War game should be at the "height" of Cold war - 80' for example. Simple. Don't spam one game across DECADES and expect me to buy loads of models for specific eras - that's just asinine. WW2 makes a moderate amount of sense to break up in that it is just 5-6 years, not 30+ years. Even then, I would argue, from my limited experience, Bolt Action figured it out without having eras...

Look at your post above and see how fractured that plan is! one guy wants NAM, one Arabs, one wants western Europe in the 80's, another Gulf War? How do you manage that? They don't seem to understand that era's split the player base, it doesn't consolidate it.

Or drop all the earlier stuff like nam and middle east since no-one cares about that, and just make team yankee great again. No one who hasn't already bought nam, korea, arab war is going to buy into it, they all want moderns. That's why it didn't sell the first time around.

They should just drop the lines and chalk them up as a fail, it happens.

The only people who want to play the other times after ww2 were the ones who bought it when it came out, or went on sale. Its the 1980 stuff that people want to play so give them that, make it all one era. The game already have t-55 which are from the 50s they are now adding t-64 which are from the 60s (no Fing clue why they added these they are the same as a t-70 1 front and 1 side armour isnt going to make people take them over the bmps).

They should have added t-80s to combat the leopard 2s (since they are the same years ish). Russia still has nothing to combat the big tanks and missiles will still eat the new t-64 which has front 17 instead of t-72 (16) which is still a point less then an abrams (18) which also gets eaten by missles. At least allied missiles.

Its fractured bcs its from notes from someone who was there. I get that they want to do sll sorts of stuff.. they started in the middle presumably bcs thats when the book team yankee takes place. Remember since day 1 ppl (mostly americans) were immediately asking for bradleys apaches etc. So maybe they thought the demand was there. Not unlike when flames first came oit.. everyone was salivating for late war and king tigers. Hate that i sound like a fanboy lol... but to me it makes sense what they are doing in broad terms ))

They did that whole thing to sell moderns. It did SO well.....they are going to end up with a Gulf War I and II book, Operation Enduring Freedom and then the battle against ISIS.
It's all pretty flooded and I am with T on this one, I wouldn't have minded if they just kind of stuck with one thing, instead of breaking into a bunch of other things at the same time or too fast.

I'm excited about the Vietnam rewrite and my new house will have some dedicated hobbying area like Scotty has at his place. I'm stoked about it, I have been extremely busy the past few weeks (months) with inspections and walkthroughs and countless hours of having to be home for the dog so that someone could come here to get stuff measured and weighed for the moving company. New address will be available to those that want to know and it's only an hour away.....didn't bother moving too far, no point in doing so when housing prices in that area are the same as Kanata. I expect there will be a HUGE gaming day at the new place once all the dust settles and the boxes are unpacked (thankfully they do that too)
