But there is more!

Say goodbye to skill trees!

Once you are level 10, you can simply open up that interface and are presented with the options for each Advanced Class available to you. After selecting an Advanced Class, the next panel of the interface describes each of the three disciplines available and allows you to select one. You can preview each of them to see what they are all about, and once you see one you like, you simply select and commit it! The chosen discipline path is automatically set to your current level, so if you want to abandon and switch disciplines (similar to resetting skill points on the trees), you can take on the challenge of a new role with ease. To make sure newer characters could immediately feel the identity of their chosen discipline at level 10, we’ve made sure that the very first things you get tend to generate a big impact to the type of character you want to be: healers get a nice heal, tanks get good defense/threat, and DPSers get a nice attack ability for their rotation. Tanks no longer have to grind 30 levels before they really start getting “Tanky” abilities; they can start being tanks right away.

It's not the same as WOW, at least from the description. The points tree is an old, pointless model, since everyone builds the same builds with points anyways.......

If you choose a certain tree, you may as well make it a "discipline" and just give the skills as you level, instead of putting one point per level into passive things to unlock key skills.

Tanks cant tank at 10, since they have no points in tanking! At least this way, once you pick your class, you get skills that distinguish that class.

Time will tell if SWTOR get it right, but there is potential.....

Its taken a while, but they have been pretty good at getting things right.. who would have thunk it that after they went FTP, they would have housing that means something (and the gold sink that comes with furnishings like manned defence turrets!) the Starfighter module, etc etc. I wouldnt have thats for sure.

i just dont know if ill preorder it, you get 12x exp bonus until dec 1st from the day you preorder, means i could easily do all the toon stories with little effort just to see the story for each one, you wouldnt have to do to many side quests to level at that rate.

1. Trailer didn't do much for me but the hint at cross-faction grouping could be interesting esp as people at this point probably have high level alts for both factions. Perhaps an ESO-style adventure zone? Not that we ever got there for that one.... or even half the dungeons....

2. Not sure about no skill trees -- on one hand it makes for way easier for devs to balance... on the other hand you don't get 'fun' builds.
