SWTOR: spend the planetary commendations you have

when 3.0 hits, all commendations are gone, so buy gear with it prior to. They have also sussed out a refund timer exploit ppl were doing last expansion: Grind up a tonne of commendations, buy top end gear right before patch. Post Patch, 'refund' that gear within the one hour timer and get the NEW commendations back, and buy top end gear within one hour of launch with no grinding of the new currency. So now there is no timer GOOD, stick it to the cheaters!
Going forward, you wont get planetary comms, just Basic comm's, which are capped at 1000, and you use those to buy the same gear you used to use with planetaries. The other type is Warzone comms from PVP activities. Per dulfy.net
