We could get maybe four 8x4s at OotB,

Be a good starter LOC only issue is they don't carry any BF stuff,

I think we should hold an event and then go from there, if we could get 8 people out for a TY Tournament to get the gage interest from the community beyond DD,

They carry the Tanks game there. It's a start, lol.

I'd be down for a tourney at OOTB.

I'm looking to head out there sometime during the week to arrange the possibility. I think we'd be able to have a decent turnout and support the store. FdB is no longer viable due to their now lack of space..

The other thing about FDB is that even if they had space, they seem to always be running either Majic, WMH, or netrunner events,

Can he order in TY stuff? I just wonder why he would want to host a tournament for a game he doesn't sell??

He has access to so many gaming distributors apparently. So getting in FoW or TY shouldn't be an issue, at least that was our conversation some time ago. It's not like FdB really has exactly what you're looking for and most of us order online, or drive two hours for stuff.

If he can get a small stock of TY/FoW stuff in (couple starters etc), and can order stuff for us when we need it that would be awesome!

Meh, I drove two hours bcs I wasnt going to be in pet for the march tournament and he owed me 70$ of product, and I needed as many PaK38s as possible for my DAK.. AND he had the team yankee stuff that the local stores have said they have 'ordered' for 3 months now.

In unrelated news, who wants to play East Germans Friday Smile

I guess Gary had them because he hadn't sold any yet. Did he tell you if anyone is really playing TY up there? I have $ from an event as well, not sure what I'll get with it. Didn't know you couldn't make the March event, I haven't even thought about it really. I'm still hoping Nationals will be one points level, since game balance is going to be very very different with next edition.

There are a few guys who play, obviously someone bought all the west german stuff.   His prices are ludicrous though.. so I bought ONLY stuff no one else has.  It was hard NOT picking up Shilkas, but they arent as needed for me as the BMPs to finish out my army.  He had a tonne of boxes of the new T55s.  100$ a box. wow.   I felt bad getting my BMPs at such crazy prices but then I remembered it was my Italians giving them to me for free from last years EW tourney Smile and again, no one has them, Randy just gets what his rep tells him and nothing else. FDB... I dunno.. its been since December that I've been waiting on my Shilkas, but they weren't as critical to my list as the command BMP and recce ones (all 5 will be BMP-1P or BMP-PK) to allow me to run east german / Red thunder lists, which can only have 1 BMP2 unit.

No Airborne lists out of East german book, sorry.  Really the only changes are Skill +1 , remount -1, and the ability to run BTR-60 motor companies and T55s and shittier T72s.   The BTR 60 obv has no missiles, so to make up for that they get added large bases of AT-4 missiles.  In my book, it makes the unit way worse, for the points (but is still pretty cheap) but then, the AT missiles can dig in and have a 3+ save.. but will be the first thing targetted every time.  Ive made my decision to stick with tracked vehicles, so am sticking with BMPs and not BTRs now.

How is game balance difficult in next edition? no games played so we have no clue. Masters been doing this for years, so I guess Dave knows it'll work. Dunno, its Lou's gig so we just have to see how it goes Smile

That's battlefront msrp, the t-55 are $72 us from them. not sure why they sell 5 t-55 for $72 usd and 5-t72 for $45 usd, sounds like they are just ripping people off or they are resin rather then plastic. In any case I was going to see if i can order threw ootb or ill get it from wayland, their prices are reasonable and over 50 pounds is free shipping.

I'm not sure what is taking FDB so long to get stuff in,

T-55's are resin/metal. T-72's are plastic.

I had all my TY stuff I ordered in without issue. They ordered it and emailed me when it came in, which wasn't long. Faster than I expected, it's just closer for me to go to Box than FdB. I'm sure because because some items are older than others, there's a tough time getting them from battlefront, who are notorious for under producing models once they've sold their initial run.

I'm sure for some units, it'll be tough to get them after a while. Especially with FoW releases, newer TY stuff right around the corner. Reminds me of getting into flames of war.....searching around for Crusaders. Trenton, Ottawa, Petawawa....I think even Dennis may have had one lying around. A lot of work sometimes to get an army together.

What sort of timeframe are you looking at for the tourney Matt?
