Feel free to start a thread if you have any questions! Welcome to the group. Are you new to Ottawa also, or just FoW?
Re: Gaming New Years Resolutions
Just new to FoW, lived in Ottawa most of my life (except for a coule years in London, Ontario, and one unfortunate year in North Bay for teachers college).

Re: Gaming New Years Resolutions
Well, we try to play weekly mainly at people's homes in the west end (Kanata, Barhaven) - but FdB in Gatineau is doing some FoW on Wednesdays now I believe...and Matt Varnish is close to there......not sure which is ideal for you, depending what part of the city you are in.

Perfect timing! -- looks like there's some dedicated Cdn lists/briefings coming out in Jan/Feb (new Market Garden books) that may be worth a look. (There are already Cdn lists around but these will be more historical)
Canadians are all new, they get:
-Armoured Squadron (Shermans + Fireflies)
-Armoured Recce Squadron (presumably South Alberta Regiment, so Shermans sans Fireflies, with integrated infantry components)
-Motor Company
-Armoured Car Squadron (presumably Staghounds)
-Rifle Company
-Recce Squadron (not sure how much it differs from Armoured Car Squadron, probably has Universal Carriers and some lighter armoured cars)

Oh, we have a good time, loads of ribbing and name calling, but all in good fun. It helps to play in locations where drinks are readily accessible, and people are free to talk/watch what they like.
PS- I am renown for finding and putting on some of the WORST movies known to man.......lol
Re: Gaming New Years Resolutions
Yeah I used to have more AAR's but my youtube acct got ganked. Once I get secure storage solution (for Christmas) I will put back up the ones I had kicking around in my recycle bin on my desktop, and put them up on my channel.
Also, for the Market Garden stuff, there is a list of new models.. the Archer? I think its a Cromwell with a 17pdr>? Rob gets his official CT15A Cdn Trucks, the Ram Kangaroo, and there is the Land Mattress rocket launcher, like they have at the war museum. Good thing I have no interest in doing cdns <barely holding back>

Wow, that looks neat. Note that the gun is mounted facing the back for when it drives.... you can see the engine under the barrel.

Beats having the crew compartment over the engine -- would get pretty hot!

I live in downtown ottawa, by Elgin street. Any of you close to downtown? I am originally from Barrhaven, so not that big of a deal if the games are there as I have a car and drive to barrhaven on a fairly regular basis.

Re: Gaming New Years Resolutions
I live downtown as well, and there are a few others. Best bet would be to schedule a night out at FdB over in Gat. Wednesday nights after 7pm (they keep it open late enough to get a game in, and have terrain downstairs, though its jam packed with Malifaux and those Infinity losers so best to get there around 630pm. I cant until the new year though

Re: Gaming New Years Resolutions
My resolution will be to come down to Ottawa atleast once and get some games in!
Also, have a few forces to paint:
German Armored Grenadiers Company MW/LW
German Afrika Corp EW/MW
Eastern Front Panzer company MW
Russian Forward Detachment LW
British Armored Company LW
101st Airborne MW/LW
I ended up buying 2 Open Fire sets, with a third American side on the way so I am working on those
Gamesummit might be difficult to make, but I should be in town April/May and around September!
