Spring Offensive Kingston - 31 March 19

Spring Offensive Kingston will be held at Nexus (270 Bagot Street) on 31 Mar 19. This will be a MW, 109 point tournament. Registration starts at 0930, 3 games - $15. You can register on the Nexus website under the events calendar (as soon as Mike posts it up there).

I think Spring Offensive Kingston was a rousing success. We had to add an additional table for a total of 16 competitors. We also had a few new fellows checking out the action and they seemed very interested. One of them walked out with a Russian army and book under his arm so that bodes well for the growth of the local community. Too bad some of the regulars from Ottawa couldn't make it. Between them a few Kingston fellows who couldn't make it we could have added a couple more tables. There was also a good turnout from the crew from Laval who, by the way, are hosting a TY tourney on 13 Apr (I think) and still have a few more open spots.

I believe Chris will be posting a post-tourney report shortly.

Tom and I had a lot of fun.  We both finished with 11 points.  I had a 1-1 draw against an army very similar to mine the first game, and 8-1 victory over a desert rats force the second game, and a 2-7 loss to an Italian army the third game.  The third game was winnable, but my opponent played it very well and I think my dice got confused and thought Dennis was still rolling them.  Had a really good time and would definitely attend another event there.
