I still say, 'Tale of Many Gamers' old school GW style. What say you? get one unit and one warmachine/character done first then a team game?
If my metals arrive first, then its a cannon w/ gunners I can work on first, if its the plastics, I guess I could do a unit of Cav....

Shit, even I might participate. Unless I'm surrounded by the unwashed, you can count me in.

Painting is coming along! Hopefully the cost and other info will be posted. I'd say at 1000 points, 3-5 games for a tournament would be good.

yeah i am leaning towards 1000 points, but it will be on 6x4s so 1250 may be better,

as for cost, we are working through the details now, but i expect the overall cost with admission to GeekMarket/CGX and admission to the tournament should be in the neighborhood of 30$-40$

I'd say for a premiere event 1k is a good starting point. People will still be new and learning as they go. And it gives people more chance to fully complete armies before the event.

Honestly for me, I don't have too much interest in 4*6 games. I like the quick play, and moving models around 4"-8" at a time on a large table would be tedious. I'm with Tristan, more games over more points. 1000 with four games on 4*4. Marty has a good point as well. Sounds great! That cost is a little crazy though? Is the room expensive?

I think we are stuck with running on 6x4s, the value of cavalry is increased a lot on a bigger table, but I can see what you mean by an infantry on infantry fight being a little tedious,

Yeah, so if uts US vs US. I'll save the gas, spend $40 on steaks and play at Duane's cottage in the cigar and cognac room. Lol

I can tell you vs Cav on a 4*6 table. I won't be marching anywhere getting run down in charges like I did against Tristan. Bombardments, to the face. For free.

And with that attitude, FoW never would have take off locally!
Do what you like, I'll be there, its not like that 40 bucks is going to be the difference between life or death. Besides, Events always get my ass in gear to paint, otherwise its mtns of pewter and plastic for years.....

Agreed.

If we want this game to get traction, and get more players, you need to play it in front of people.

Hell, first GS was just a big mega battle....and it got lots of attention.

I will plan to be there, and I think 1k on 4x4 would be perfect. 4 games.

If the tables are 6'x4', thats fine, 2' of space for army and books!

waiting to see what the tourney pack says regarding points and table size,

there is a lot more room to maneuver on a 6x4, but at 1000 points 4x4 is enough space,

2) Choose a Gaming Area
We assume that games of Kings of War will
be played on a 6’x4’ foot table or other flat
surface, like a floor.
For larger games, we recommend an extra
3' of width for every 1000 points over 2000.
For games with 1500 or fewer points, we
recommend using a smaller board size, like
4'x4'.

So 4'x4' is fine, means its easier to set up the tables and a lot less terrain.

At least somebody read the rules. Like I said, 4*4 is good.

We will have 6*4s for the event, we can put a piece of string at 2feet if we decide that is best.

I agree that at 1000 points 4*4 is likely best

6x4 is ideal because it give you a place to put things off board, like during deployment ect.

6x4 vs. 4x4 likely won't make a damn bit of difference. Sure cavalry get a slight movement advantage but you get a lot more room to prepare defenses to deal with it. We've all had to deal with this for years in fantasy, doesn't really make a tonne of difference.

Won't make a difference, except your ability to shoot your guns more Marty. LOL

It'll be nice to have an area for armies and lists for sure. Even gives Andrew somewhere to roll so he doesn't smash terrain or models. Hahahahaha!

Let me know if you need me to bring any stuff, I could easily do 4 tables.
