a tank list shouldnt use a typhoon. you get 1, maybe two turns to use it then you may as well put it back in your case....

The main thing is that the M10C's are listed as Self-propelled Anti-tank Guns. Does this count as a third tank platoon, as they are fully tracked and have turrets?
they are "tank teams" so yes, count as tanks.
Thats a slippery slope definition though.
A German heavy platoon are "tank teams" but could consist only of 8cm mortar half tracks, for 110 points. Bam, 3rd "tank" platoon.
I dont think anyone in our little group would be that silly though
Not really a slippery slope - there are 3 types of teams in the game: Infantry/Tank/Gun. Tank platoons are platoons made up of Tank teams. By definition.
I am not trying to game the rules, and I understand what Matt is after, but the game defines tank teams clearly enough. Armored recon are tank teams, and "should" count as such since the game treats them as such. But I digress.........

Only thing on that is that Armoured recon are not made up solely of tank teams (because they can dismount infantry)
I agree though that it is clear what Matt is after..

Re: Flames of War Tanks-Giving Tournament 10 October 2015
Figured I'd throw out my planned list here as well and make sure i didn't mess up on any comp issues.
9th Light Tank Company
-Confident Veteran-
-HQ-
2 M24 Chaffee Tanks
-Combat Platoons-
4 M24 Chaffee Tanks
4 M24 Chaffee Tanks
-Weapons Platoons-
Armoured Mortar Platoon - all halftracks upgraded with HMGs
Recon Platoon - 1 Section, add bazooka
-Support Platoons-
4 M18 Tank Destroyers
Armoured Rifle Platoon
Hope that's good? I have 4 fully Armoured tank platoons (though I assume the mortars don't count as the right 'type' of tank team?) and no artillery at all!

A a lot of fun, played something a little 'unexpected' but it was well received by 80% of the players. Didn't leave much room for any weird stuff to 'auto-win' in any of the scenarios.
Ran I-95 Seize The Flank
Then rolled to see which of the 3 Fair-Fights we would run.....can't remember at the moment cause I am on my way to bed.
Third mission was 'Surrounded' which was pretty awesome to have at a tournament since it never get's played and prevents a lot of tailoring for the standard Free For All then Mobile then Defensive type tournaments. Which there is nothing wrong with, but it's a different event, so why stick with the 'normal' schedule. Used a 2h10m game limit, the 10 minutes allowed for movement to the next game and pretty much deployment. Nobody complained about time and one match even went 6-1 in the first 2 turns by killing stuff.....and really bad armor saves apparently.
I think it was mentioned Andrew killed 31 tanks! Brad and myself were second, only we had 24. Quite a gap between the leader. Everyone got something out of it and seemed to have a good time.
