Saw this on the Battlefront flames website:

Period:Mid War, maximum number of players 60
Points: 71 points Army including the command cards
Rounds/Games: 6 rounds
Round/Game length: set by Battlefront
Tables: 6'x 4'
Missions: Schedule
Registration Cost: $50.00 Cdn
Location: Residence Inn by Mariott Ottawa Downtown,
161 Laurier Avenue West, Ottawa, K1P 5J2

I just saw it too.  Now we have to bring three different 71 pt lists.  That is going to be a hassle.  I guess mine will be very close to each other with only minor differences.  Anyways, I'll be there to support/represent.

Well my dilemma is that I have Zero painted yet!

I guess I will be busy with my Italians as soon as I get back.

Also the last package for my Vietnam turned up at the house yesterday.

Hey Guys, some of you may have received an e mail from Louis earlier today with more details on the upcoming Nationals. I found the e mail a bit confusing and contacted Louis for clarification. As a result, here is perhaps a more accurate statement of what he was trying to convey:

Canadian Nationals Tournament information Package:

1. Victory Conditions: We will be following the More Missions PDF for victory conditions, without using the Battle Plans section located at the following link: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

2. The Deep Reserve Rule: will be followed as per the More Mission PDF, so please select your force carefully.

3. Information required for Scoring: The following info will be required as you register with the TO:
a. Country you are playing,
b. Type of Units,
c. Number of formations,

4. First Round of Play: In order to determine who plays who in the first round of play the following criteria will be applied:
a. Axis versus Allied (note: this will only be possible should there be an even number of Axis and Allied players but will be applied to the maximum extent possible),
b. Player will not be playing same club members.........if possible.

4. How to determine who attacks or defends: Each player will total up the amount of points for each unit (in version 3 referred to as a platoon) and calculate their individual points as follows: (note: higher score will be the attacker. Should there be a tie, players will roll a die to determine, with the higher die roll being the attacker)
a. (0pts) for each Infantry unit,
b. (0pts) for infantry HQ unit,
c. (0pts) for each Guns unit without transports,
d. (1pt) for each Mobile (a.k.a mechanized) unit,
e. (1pt) for Mobile HQ (a.k.a mechanized) unit,
f. (1pt) for each Recce / Recon unit,
g. (2pts) for Armour HQ unit,
h. (2pts) for each Armour unit.

Louis has been speaking with David Griffin from Battle Front and indications are that the National tournaments that Dave has been involved in recently are following the same criteria. Nothing more at the moment to report on the new Eastern Front books as to their eligibility but Louis indicated some time ago that they would be allowed provided they are released in time. I've placed a pre-order a week ago and we'll see when they arrive. It'll be a close run...........
