Re: 40K 8th Edition Thoughts Thread
I'm really liking the more narrative slant of the game and the rules/scenarios - I don't see myself playing in tournaments like, ever, so that would be my focus of games personally...
Re: 40K 8th Edition Thoughts Thread
I like the idea, it is just in our last game Lysander was saved 3 times by a command point reroll,
It just felt cheesy that 3 times my warlord could have died.. if Tristan's dread had not blown up and killed Lysander I would have one the game..

I agree, I really like the narrative game play, I really liked the random mission and deployment, I just felt the twist was too much

Did you guys hear about the lawsuit vs GW for 63 mil? He is suing over their trade practices, like price fixing, limiting releases to store ect. Its all legal to do in europe but not in the USA.
Things like price fixing, limiting releases to stores, taking product availability away from the independent store and making it direct order only ect. Seems like an interesting lawsuit.

GW Lawsuit:

I heard about it. It'll be interesting to see what happens.
Otherwise, for at least for the command re-rolls, it's only once per phase that you can make a re-roll.

Re: 40K 8th Edition Thoughts Thread
So, BIG change from index to codex for me: Noise Marines are NOT troops anymore if I take Slaanesh HQs. So I have to run a Vanguard detachment to run lots of Noise Marines. Granted I can just build off that detachment, and "suffer" the -2 CPs for that build...no other effect... except that as Elites, they don't also get the new rule that allows a "Troops" unit to outnumber other non Troop units when capturing/contesting objective regardless of model count
Thinking Ill have to go with a 2 detachment build when we move past 1500 pts... Will be interested to see if Plague Marines count as troops in the new Death Guard codex....and if Slaanesh and Khorne "suffer" from being lumped in with CSM.
Not a big deal, but changes how I make lists...
On one level I get that there should be some "cost" to playing a specialized, all "elite" force...so I'm ok with it on a design level

Are there Legion rules that make cult troops, troop choices?

Index YES
New CSM Codex NO
Re: 40K 8th Edition Thoughts Thread
Are they coming out with god specific books or just the CSM. You can't even buy Khone marines atm, at least not from GW. Guess they are redoing the models and pulled the old ones.
Re: 40K 8th Edition Thoughts Thread
Can't you take heritics as troops and then Boise Marines as elites?

Yes - also, Poxwalkers, Cultists, etc......interestingly Deamonettes are troops too, but you have to summon them on via a character so they aren't as reliable.

First thing I thought was Bose

I kinda want to see a joke paint scheme of Noise Marines themed around Bose speakers...
